Share see Training Program ends its cycle in Belgrade on 27th of November.
Trainers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia gathered in hotel Sumadija in Belgrade with representatives of Handicap International and partner organizations to present outputs and outcomes of Training Program and to discuss future perspectives.
At the end of this gathering there was a cocktail and distribution of Certicates and acknowledgments to trainers.
The campaign runs from 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women to December 10, International Human Rights Day. It also includes 1 December, World AIDS Day and 3 December, International Day of Disabled Persons.
The training of the last module, within the serial of four, was held in Niska banja, 22nd of November. The topic of this last one was“Creation the Local Plans of Actions in Disability Area”.This training was organised in „Radon” Insitute in Niska banja and the trainers were Svetislav Marjanovic and Dimitrije Gligorijevic.At the end of the training there was a small celebration related to the certificates that was given to participants, due to their successful learning and beginning of implementation of gain knowledge into practice.
The training of the last module, within the serial of four, was held in Predejane 17th of November. The topic of this last one was “Creation the Local Plans of Actions in Disability Area”. This training was organised in Motel Predejane . The trainers were Svetislav Marjanovic and Vojislav Mladenovic and it was pity that due to bad weather conditions some of regular participants could not come. At the end of the training there was a small celebration related to the certificates that was given to participants, due to their successful learning and beginning of implementation of gain knowledge into practice.
The European Disability Forum (EDF), the representative organization of the approximately 50 million persons with disabilities in the European Union is organizing, together with CERMI, the Spanish national council of persons with disabilities, a conference on Women and Girls with Disabilities, which will take place in Madrid, Spain on the 16 th to 18 th of November 2007.
The purpose of the conference is mainly to promote equality and improve the lives of girls and women with disabilities through analysing in depth the key issues affecting girls and women with disabilities in terms of their full participation as citizens.
Gordana Rajkov as a member of the Serbian centre for Independent Living and a member of the Parliament of Serbia will participate at this conference as a speaker. She will speak on the Saturday, 17 th of November, morning session on the topic “How to actively involve women with disabilities in policy formulation and implementation in order to improve their quality of life”. Her experience in this field would be very valuable for the success of this conference.
Vesna Bogdanovic from organisation CRID will also participate at the Conference as another participant from Serbia.

The United Nations (UN) is an international organization whose stated aims are to facilitate cooperation in international law, international security, economic development, social progress and human rights issues.
The United Nations was founded in 1945 to replace the League of Nations, in the hope that it would intervene in conflicts between nations and thereby avoid war. The organization began with fifty countries signing the United Nations Charter. The organization’s structure still reflects in some ways the circumstances of its founding. The five permanent members of the UN Security Council, each of which has veto power on any Security Council resolution, are the main victors of World War II or their successor states (alphabetical order): the People’s Republic of China (which replaced the Republic of China in 1971); France; Russia (which replaced the Soviet Union in 1991); the United Kingdom; and the United States.
There are currently 192 United Nations member states , encompassing almost every recognized independent state. The organization is divided into administrative bodies, including the General Assembly, Security Council, Economic and Social Council, Secretariat, and the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The UN’s most visible public figure is the Secretary-General. The current Secretary-General is Ban Ki-moon of South Korea, who assumed the post on 1 January 2007.
15 October 2007Researchers at the University of Washington have developed voice recognition technology to navigate the Internet for those that cannot use a handheld mouse.The Vocal Joystick relies on vowel sounds to move in one direction or the other and moves faster or slower dependent on how loud the user speaks, and detects sounds 100 times a second. Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering says in a statement:“There are many people who have perfect use of their voice who don’t have use of their hands and arms, I think there are several reasons why Vocal Joystick might be a better approach, or at least a viable alternative, to brain-computer interfaces.” The technology can be used for browsing the Internet, as well as for playing video games and even drawing on a screen. Other technologies are available for those users who cannot use a handheld mouse, eye trackers, sip-and-puff devices and head-tracking systems, also exist for enabling the disabled to take advantage of computers and the Internet. Although these are available, the University of Washington researchers suggest that these technologies have limitations, whereas Vocal Joystick is simpler to use. Using the tool only requires a microphone, a computer sound card and a user who can make sounds.
Elena Pecaric, wheelchair user, co-founder of Society for Theory and Culture of Handicap and Assistant and Mentor on Faculty for Social Work, was one of the candidates on Slovenian Presidential elections on 21st of October 2007.
