Representatives of each country involved in CARDS project participated at this Meeting. Disability movement in Serbia represented: Gordana Rajkov from Center for Independent Living Serbia, Ivanka Jovanovic from Muscular Dystrophy Association of Serbia, Dragisa Drobnjak from Union of Blind People of Serbia and Anica Spasov from Union of Organisations for Support of Mentally Disabled People.
Participants of Annual General Meeting also meat representatives of European Organisation for Art and culture EUCREA and discussed about the needs assessment and situation in this area, as well as EU Resolution on access to institutions of culture and activities in this area for persons with disabilities.
Center for independed living of people with disabilities of Serbia was founded in 1996. At that time, it gathered a small group of people who had different types of disabilities but a common wish: to start working something new.The new was the idea on independed living which along with Gordana Rajkov, saild in from the faraway Ireland and determined the future logo of the Center . Being aware of the vagaries of waters we would sail ,
we were determined to build a secure harbor in Belgrade.
