Center for the Independent Living of Persons with Disabilities of Serbia in cooperation with UN Women held a workshop on “Building capacity of women with disabilities for greater participation in leadership positions in organizations of people with disabilities and women’s organizations” in Belgrade on February 21, 2019.
This workshop presented a survey on the position of women with disabilities in managerial positions, which showed that very few women with disabilities take up these positions, problems that exist in this regard, as well as some of the ways in which this situation could be corrected . The workshop was attended by 14 disabled women in leadership positions, as well as President of Union or Paraplegics Serbia.
Workshop were also attended by Brankica Jankovic, Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, and Suzana Paunovic, Director of the Office for Human and Minority Rights, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans’ Affairs and Social Affairs, Tatjana Stepanić and other representatives from women’s organizations. Natalija Ostojic and his associate from UN Women participated in the workshop. The workshop was moderated by the CIL associates, Aleksandra Vesić and Zorica Raskovic.
This opportunity was also used by Mr. Pajević in front of the SPIKS, and on the occasion of 25 years of work of this organization, he was grateful to Gordana Rajkov for support and assistance in the work of the Disability Movement, which is also the project coordinator for women with disabilities in managerial positions.
