Social Policy Monitoring Initiative

This project aims to strengthen the capacities of CSOs and develop sustainable mechanism for monitoring the implementation of Social Policy (new Law on Social Protection) focusing on needs and rights of 7 minority groups including children, youth, the elderly, women, persons with disabilities, refugees and internally displaced persons and Roma.

The project has two components – one related to strengthening the capacities of CSOs and citizens to engage in monitoring and policy making processes, and the other related to the development of sustainable mechanisms for citizens participation in monitoring and policy making processes. More than 1000 CSOs and citizens from minority groups are expected to be involved in project implementation

The coalition of 7 organizations, each representing one vulnerable group and their organizations, will during 3-year period monitor (watchdog) the implementation of the Law on Social Protection on national and local levels and will advocate for introduction of sustainable mechanisms for participation.
