Full citizenship through independent living
CIL Serbia will implement this project which aim is to contribute the realization of human rights for persons with disabilities and development of local social welfare services, envisaged by the Social Protection Strategy of Šabac, through the support of the independent life of persons with disability and their full civic participation in Sabac.
Project specific objectives are:
1. Development and piloting the services of personal assistants, as new support services for people with disabilities, which currently does not exist in Sabac
2. Support to the further development of social protection services in Sabac, through advocacy for introduction of PA service into the social protection system in Sabac, and establishing and strengthening partnerships between organizations of persons with disabilities and local government.
The target group of this project are adults with physical disabilities and blind persons, local decision makers (representatives of local authorities and relevant institutions).
The project is being implemented within the framework of the Regional Program of Local Democracy in the Western Balkans through UNDP and the EC funds. Partners on the project are the Association of Paraplegics of the Macva District and the Inter-Municipal Organization of Blind Sabac and will last for 9 months.
