Meeting of NODPO representatives with Minister Rasim Ljajic, 4 of March 2008

Representatives of NODPO Ivanka Jovanovic, Svetlana Vlahovic and Mihajlo Pajevic discussed with Minister of Labor and Social Policy Rasim Ljajic on different topics and two are the mai:

1. Major problem for NODPO is lack of working premises and resources for working engagement of two employees (PWD who will work as Executive director and person who will do the administration and do as working assistant); material and program issues were also discussed and Minister Ljajic promised to consider those problems and meet again.

The issue of financing or DPOs was also tackled here (non-transparent share of financial resources, inaccessibility of Codebook on the way of resources sharing from Fund for program and Fund for projects, delaying in money delivery…) but it will be discussed in some of next meetings.

2. The second part of the meeting related to repeated Call for projects and fear of repeating the same situation which will be good for professional associations or small humanitarian organizations which is not the aim of this Call for projects.

Minister Ljajic was eager to hear our suggestions which were:

1. highest percentage of approved projects (around 80 %) should be the projects of authentic DPOs
2. the rest of the projects could be those who will be realized in partnership of NGOs and DPOs, which really deal with PWDs and not just adapted to the Call for projects proposals

3. transparency principle should be respected:

a) after the results, beside the name and project, should be the short content of the project
b) organizations which projects did not pass should be informed in written about the decision
c) one of the criteria should be the change that this particular project resulted in and not just the quality of the way how the project is written.

Mimister Ljajic promised to pass this requests to the member of the Selection Komission.
