MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS:
INCLUSION OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

This conference aims to bring together EU actors from Governments, EU institutions, organizations of persons with disabilities and development NGOs from the South and the North to discuss and examine how well the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) have addressed the concerns of persons with disabilities in developing countries and what more needs to be done to make this happen?
This Conference offers a unique opportunity to:
- analyse the MDGs from the perspective of people with disabilities and to consider the impact of MDGs’ strategies in light of the new UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
- learn more about the practical experiences from the field on implementing inclusive development and rights based approaches to development
- provide a forum for exchange between key actors with experience of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and its positive effect on promoting inclusive development cooperation policies across the EU and impact to improve the lives of persons with disabilities in developing countries
- develop practical tools and answers on how to mainstream disability into existing development policies.
Center for Independent Living Serbia participated in Millennium Development Goals for Serbia and its representatives Borivoje Ljubinkovic and Vera Knezevic will participate at Bratislava Conference.
