Five years ago there was a process of identification of key trends, status and challenges in poverty reduction process in Serbia that formed base for production the Poverty reduction Strategy in Serbia. An overall aim of this document was to half down the poverty in Serbia until 2010. During the four years of implementation of PRS was succesfully realised with the support of all relevant international and domestic partners.
Government of Republic of Serbia and Team of Government Vice-President for Implementation of PRS organised Fourth National Conference on Poverty Reduction in Serbia, on 5 th of March 2009 in Belgrade ( Center Sava) .
Speakers of the Conference will be representatives of: Government for European Integration, Ministry for Labor and Social Policy, UNDP Program, delegation of European Comission in Serbia, Department for International Development of GB, Department for Poverty in Serbian Assembly, Contact Organisations of Civil Society, World Bank office in Serbia and Republic Institute for Statistics.
After introductory speeches participants will work in two groups on:
- Acomplishments in PRS implementation in area of employment, education, agriculture and rural development and
- PRS in area of social protection, pension and health system.
